Blog Maintenance...
Why did I do this, you ask? Ok, so you didn't ask, but I am going to tell you anyway, because your not asking never stopped me before, now did it?
- I found a few typos and fixed those.
- I tend to write whatever is on my mind at the time. I try not to use names, but fail if the named person has really pissed me off. I removed those names.
- Sometimes I refer to people who, if they read my blog, would definitely know that I am referring to them. Sometimes I do not refer to them in a way that they would appreciate (even though I meant it in the nicest way possible). I removed those references.
It's the weekend...
- Yes, I made it to Bally's:)
- Yes, I got a few much needed groceries after Bally's (for G-man, really).
- Yes, I did a load of dishes (ok, I admit, I have a dishwasher).
- Yes, I read and replied to all my emails.
Now it is time to get off my butt and do some real work, like laundry and cleaning....ugh.
But first....
What I learned today (that ya think I would know by now)....
- It is best to wait an hour after opening to go to Bally's on Saturday...cuz the whole neighborhood is there when it opens and it is crowded and noisy....ugh
- Take the damn list to the grocery story....as soon as I walked in the door I realized that I forgot at least 3 things on the list ...of course it may have helped if I had written the list down on paper instead of leaving it in my head...

Today I learned...
At the local high school football game....
- The best action takes place on the field....Go Rebs! Thanks for running (over) a Blue Streak in that come from behind win!
- Second best action takes place in the student cheering section which was minus 5 CUI (cheering under the influence) students by halftime...
- And then there is the parent cheering section...what a blast we have...victory is ours... in more ways than one!

An Apology...
I apologize that I do not know the law and that I do not care enough to learn what I need to know at this time....
Today I learned...
- I hate insurance policies:)

What I learned yesterday....
Sharing the news about the possibility of impending doom with your boss (and his boss and her boss and her boss) makes for a better relationship...
We are actually getting along...thanks lc

What I learned today....
From My Mom....
1. The nicest thing about the future is it always starts tomorrow.
2. Money will buy a fine dog but only kindness will make him wag his tail.
3. If you don't have a sense of humor, you probably don't have any sense at all.
4. Seat belts are not as confining as wheelchairs.
5. A good time to keep your mouth shut is when you're in deep water.
6. How come it takes so little time for a child who is afraid of the dark to become a teenager who wants to stay out all night?
7. Business conventions are important because they demonstrate how many people a company can operate without.
8. Why is it that, at class reunions, you feel younger than everyone else looks?
9. Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job.
10. No one has more driving ambition than the boy who anxiously awaits his 16th birthday.
11. There are no new sins; the old ones just get more publicity.
12. There are worse things than getting a call for a wrong number at 4AM : It could be a right number.
13. No one ever says "It's only a game" when their team's winning.
14. I've reached the age where the happy hour is a nap.
15. Be careful reading the fine print. There's no way you're going to like it.
16. The trouble with bucket seats is not everybody has the same size bucket.
17. Do you realize in about 40 years we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos? (And rap music will be the Golden Oldies!)
18. Money can't buy happiness - but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Mercedes than in a Kia.

This weekend I learned....
But if I do not end it and get to sleep, I will not have a good day tomorrow..unless sleeping at my desk counts for a good day...
So I will make this short and sweet....
Friday was football dinner where I embarrassed my son enough that he did not talk to me the rest of the night....oh well, shit happens, my bad, I'm sorry for loving you....
Then walked to a neighborhood pampered chef party (yummy) at which I spent money I did not intend to spend on cool things I did not need:) Spoil me - yay!
Saturday was clean the house a little, run to Bath to pick up my son who is in town, back to Willo-town, then to football, Go Rebs! Go #25 - 4 TD's, one for me, one for your brother, one for your GF, and one for what's her name:)
Then out on the town - cuz it is now Sunday and my birthday:) And my son is taking us out. His gift is the tab, and he wants it to be a big gift, so how many shots can Mom do before the bar closes? Luckily we have a driver in the family who is too young to drink...thanks for the ride, G-Man. I had so much fun..only a little too much. My daughter was the smart one, refusing all but one shot. Her boyfriend was gone before the shots started...but that did not stop him from happy shotting birthday with me:)
G-Man started a new job Sunday - after he picked up the house for me...
My favorite daughter made me the most awesome matching candle holders and vase. I will take a picture and post...but not tonight - gotta get some sleep...
We ordered pizza and my Mom and Dad visited. Then I brought ldboy to Copley, came home and had brownies and ice cream with G-Man and his girlfriend.
Then I wrote some emails and reread LC's blog in a whole new light:) WOW!!! Thanks for the insight, D.
G-Man has asked me to get up early, skip Bally's to visit Dunkin Donuts because he feels the need to feed the lineman breakfast after they blocked for his 154 yards and 4 TDs....
So before I drift off to sleep to dream of tomorrows....
What did I learn this weekend...
...you can find something good in almost every experience...I have made a new friend because I lost what I thought was a love. Welcome new friend...Kiss my ass, LC...oh wait you did that already....
Good night!

More fun at the office...
Then I got to thinking....this may be a good chance for anyone thinking about going to the other side to take a look at themselves first....sort of try before you buy...
Let's just say that today I also learned that I do not look too bad as a guy...
Sometime I may post the results...but not right now. We are still laughing our butts off...

Today I learned...
...to what extent some people will go to try to 'delete' their past rather than deal with it. (Their loss.)
...if you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it.)
...if you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. (Now that's more like it!)
...the human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out of the body to squirt blood 30 feet. (O.M.G.!)
...a pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes. (Lucky pig.)
...a cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death! (Creepy - I'm still not over the pig.)
...banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories a hour. (Don't try this at home, maybe at work)
...the male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body . The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. ("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")
...the flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field. (30 minutes..lucky pig! Can you imagine?)
...the catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)
...some lions mate over 50 times a day. (I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)
...butterflies taste with their feet. (Something I always wanted to know.)
...the strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. (Hmmmmmm......)
...right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. (If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)
...elephants are the only animals that cannot jump. (Okay, so that would be a good thing)
...a cat's urine glows under a black light. (I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)
...an ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that.)
...starfish have no brains. (I know some people like that too )
...polar bears are left-handed. (If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)
...humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (What about that pig??)
Today I learned...
...several new ways to make co-workers SSOOTN.
...that meetings are much more fun when we are watching co-workers sleep and betting on how soon they will snore and whether it will wake them up.
...it wasn't just me...wow...
Where did that post go?
Some things and/or people just aren't worth ranting about....on this blog, anyway

Life lessons learned...again
Late spring I decided to try once again to enter the wonderful world of dating. It has been quite a ride. And the ride is over. I've decided to put on paper (well, blog) some of the things I learned this time around, as a reminder to myself before the next time (if I ever let there be a next time)!!!!
- If he seems too good to be true, he most likely is.
- When he asks for money, run far and fast; regardless of the fact that you have none to give him anyway...you still have a teenager at home.
- When he is too hot, sweet, and sexy to still be single, he's proabaly not.
- When he tells you that you are more beautiful than you know you can possibly be, don't believe him, as bad as you want to.
- When he tell you he does not care, he really does not care.
- When your best friends hint that he is not good for you, pay attention. They were right the last time.
- Poetry, roses, and romantic messages are nice sentiments. But you still need spans of time together and physical contact.
- When he constantly tells you he is too busy to spend time with you, he probably is. Understand where you are on his priority list, deal with it, and move on. It is not going to change because you want it to.
- Keep the 'just friends' status for as long as you can, because once you pass that, it is not so easy to get it back, no matter what you tell yourself or how bad you want to.
- He is who he is and you are who you are. If he does not want to do something for you, he will not be happy doing it. If you need it, it is time to look elsewhere. Remember, you fell for him because of who he was, not who you want him to be.
- As soon as there is any hint of a guilt trip coming your way, back off fast, before your darkest side emerges...before the fighter in you puts the gloves on....before the Wicked Witch of the Willo flies in on her broom....ooops, too late. We'll just blame that on remnants of a catholic school upbringing...yeah.
Today I learned...
As I get older, I sometimes tend to forget what I learned just yesterday.
So I have decided to start keeping track....
I will have a Today I learned.. post everyday (if I remember). And if I learn more than one new thing - I will add to the post throughout the day.
Today I learned...
- You find out so much more about someone after it does not matter anymore.
Looking forward to the weekend....
My oldest son is on his way home. He will be visiting family and friends in the area for about a week. I am looking forward to seeing him again and spending some time with him - maybe even a night out with him and his friends.
My favorite daughter and her boyfriend and my puppy grandson are coming home for the weekend - yay. Granted she only lives about an hour away, and I can see her fairly regularly. But having her around the house is fun. I miss her smile, her giggle, her smart-ass comments:)
And that night out...she will make it even more fun.
Yes, I will spring for the cab guys - K does not have to be the DD and all the water in the world is probably not going to keep me sober this weekend. But I will do my best not to be stupid. Keep pullin' those beer goggles off me...
And Saturday night is football night. It's the Rebels vs the Vikings at Euclid. Go Rebs! You've already had your two losses for this season:)
And the whole family will be there to cheer you on #25. Just remember, if you go down, you have exactly 60 seconds to get up and off the field....otherwise, well, you know:)
And then Sunday evening dinner at my house....can't wait. All my kids home at the same time...you know I'm lovin' it...
Makes the work week bearable....
