I know this is not my usual style, but I figure since I am wearing a habit, I can get away with it...
Get away with what???
A couple of things...
First, my kids' paternal grandma was given a few months to live in November; she spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with us and seemed to be defying the doctors by getting stronger every day.
This weekend, her defiance started to catch up with her. She got the flu which took a toll on her already weak heart.
As of last night, she seems to be pulling through ok.
But her days are likely numbered.
So I am asking that you keep my kids and their Dad (yeah - the ex) in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this over the next few weeks/months.
If you do not pray, thoughts are appreciated, as long as they are good thoughts:)
And second, one of my very first and best blogging friends, Rocky Macy, at Pa Rock's Ramble, is going through a rough time.
Rock's Ramble is not a humor blog, and I will admit openly that I just skim many of his postings.
The postings about his family have always been my favorite.
Christmas Day I was sitting on my couch catching up on my blog reading when I read that Rock's Dad had passed away that morning - he fell while delivering Christmas Candy to his renters.
Though I have not met Rock personally, I cried for him. Because through his blog, I know what his family means to him.
But the pain for Rock did not stop there.
On New Year's Eve, after the funeral, as family was heading in different directions to their respective homes, Rock's Grandson, Reed, was in a terrible accident.
Two family members were killed in that accident: Reed's Dad and cousin. And a family dog.
Reed and his girlfriend survived - Gail with minor injuries, Reed brunting the worst of it.
Reed was life-flighted from the wreck and nearly died that night; he has undergone several surgeries since.
I will not go into more detail here - it is on Pa Rock's Ramble.
But I am asking for your prayers and or good thoughts for Reed's recovery and to help his family through this ordeal.
Thank you.
Amen.

I prayed for your friends.
I know I don't always come across as a Godly man, but I am a believer.
A sinner, saved by grace, if you will.
And I know prayer works.
I've seen it.
God Bless.
You got it, Phillipia. I'm sending prayers for your family and Pa Rock's... As tough as it feels sometimes, it's things ilke this that remind us what is really important in life. Keep us posted on Grandma.
Thanks, Ed. I appreciate it. I too believe prayer works. It is just more fun sometimes acting as a non-believer after so many years of being forced to believe in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church....cannot seem to erase that...:)
She's back!!!! Thanks WT. I have missed you:) Please start blogging - or at least commenting -again....puleese:)
Your snarcasm is missed...

Praying!! What a hard thing to go through!
