Black...for the funeral?

Our local High School football team is awesome this year...and I am not saying that just because my son is one of their two awesome running backs (he gets a lot of help from his fellow backs and the line). And the defense is pretty damn good too...the whole defense...

Anyway, playoffs are here and we (the team, of which I am part of by having given birth to one of the RBs - yes, the white one) are in - in Division I, Region I no less.

The opposing team is a local team...I work with and otherwise know (not in any Biblical sense) some of their team (the parental part). So it is a friendly rivalry and will be good for the area in so many ways...

The other team's color is Red; ours is Rebel Blue; however, our coaching staff has asked the fans to wear black to the game....We do have a lot of football and school spirit wear in black. But most of us prefer the Blue at gametime. So why did the coach request that we wear black?

Could it be in preparation for the funeral of the other team's season?
