It's the weekend...

Another good start to a good weekend....

  • Rebels won last night to take the lead in the PAC...Go #25! (yeah...I'm biased)
  • Made it to Bally's this am....
  • Ran a few errands....
  • Making a run to the west side as promised to G-man (it is his bday weekend...I'll go the extra mile or 50)
  • Hopefully catch up on web postings, emailings, laundry, and housework later today and into tomorrow - in other words, I am not ignoring you, just taking care of business:)
Enjoy!

What I may never learn...

...or at least never admit to.

And today I learned...

Well, you'll figure it out...

Anyway, I got an email from one of my newly appointed upper managers. She is a single Mom like myself and understands how important family is to me.

When I first received the email, I admit I was taken aback. I struggle financially to maintain a decent living for myself and my kids. It seems a little much to ask me to take on the added burden of a couple more in my household. I really want to help, but my son says no way....

What do you think I should do? Here is her email...

SAD ...OPEN YOUR HEARTS TO THESE TWINS!!!!!!!

We need to extend our hearts to those little ones that need loving and caring Moms and good homes which I know we all are and can provide.

I have already put my name down on the list and am willing to take them for at least two nights each week, as this is the right thing to do. My family just needs to understand.

It is our duty to stand by these twins and supply them with their daily needs for survival and a chance of a happy life.

In the end it will enrich all of us. Please look at the attached picture and soften your hearts for these twins.

Such cute things they are...

What I learned today....

It has been a productive day...

I learned...
  • ...that G-Man gets upset when his girlfriend and I discuss which of the FB coaches are the hottest:)
  • ...that office chatter is non-existent when I work from home:)
  • ...that not all guys that respond to an ad on Craig's list are... well, you know...
  • ...Not to leave my personal text messages on my cell phone and then let G-Man borrow my phone unless I want to be called gorgeous and pretty eyes all evening...
Do you see heaven in my eyes, G-man?
Depends what day it is, gorgeous...
my son, the lady-killer...

Why Phillipia....

Why Phillipia, you ask?

For those of you who didn't ask, I am going to tell you anyway because your not asking has never stopped me before (just ask my kids)!

Phillipia was a nickname someone gave me who did not want to use my real name. I liked it, so I adopted it.

Why do I like it, you ask? (You did, I heard you.)

I like it for a totally different reason than it was bestowed upon me. It happened to remind me of my catholic school upbringing...because I am Mary and Phillipia is most certainly a nun name...Sr. Mary Phillipia:)

While I am pretty sure I did not know an actual Sr. Mary Phillipia, I knew a lot of nuns...a couple I actually like and respected. The rest, well, there are priests and there are nuns in my past and present...and someday I will blog about them as Phillipia writes....

Disclaimer...My blog is not always what you may want to read...but it is me...I say what is on my mind at the time....sometimes the words are those nasty four letter ones, I try to keep them in my mind, but they just will not stay put...

And finally before I lay my head down to sleep and dream of tomorrow...

Today I learned:
Freud said that the first time a human uttered a swear word instead of beating someone with a club was a big, positive step toward civilization...

This from a good friend/co-worker who admits that at times the club is better...

Oh yeah...

Thanks for the support, SWD!

Good Night!

Today I learned...

Bruce Springsteen (yeah, that's right, the Boss) is the half-time entertainment at the 2009 Superbowl....

What a way to get the ratings up...who cares if the Browns do not make it this year (they still have a chance).

I know I will be watching...

And praying for a wardrobe malfunction....

Now some of you may think that is sick - the guy is 59...but so am I (in a few years, anyway) and he is one hot 59 year old...I mean, I'd take him....I've got a hungry heart:)

Honesty is the Best Policy...

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the Priest beside her, "Father, may I ask a favour?"

"Of course child. What may I do for you?"

"Well, I bought an expensive woman's electronic hair dryer for my Mother's birthday that is unopened and well over the Customs limits, and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it. Is there any way you could carry it through customs for me? Under your robes perhaps?"

"I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you: I will not lie."

"With your honest face, Father, no one will question you."

When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her.

The official asked, "Father, do you have anything to declare?"

"From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare."

The official thought this answer strange, so asked, "And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?"

"I have a marvellous instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused."

Roaring with laughter, the official said, "Go ahead, Father. Next!"

What I learned today...

When you play too much on Saturday, Sundays are not as fun as they could be...

While I was stumbling for content for G-man's calendar, I came across this bumper sticker and thought of...well, no names mentioned:)

Happy Sunday....

I love Sundays...a day of rest...or catchup...or both...or whatever...

I had breakfast with a good friend this morning - we always have fun and she has a way of setting me straight sometimes....

For example, in her latest email to me she wrote:
Good looks catch the eye but a GOOD personality catches the heart. You're blessed with both!

Don't be flattered, this message was sent to ME,
I just wanted YOU to read it:)

Thanks MS:)
