Let's not forget the great great great grandfather, the 8-track...and who could ever forget 'Ole Granny's reel-to-reel... Wouldn't having to use those outdated contraptions really mess up hip-hop...

I'm old enough to remember an argument on the school bus as to which format was better - cassettes or 8 tracks. I took the cassette side - I hated the way the 8 tracks would split songs in half. Who the hell thought of that?
